Hospitals are Hiking Prices

by | Oct 27, 2016 | 0 comments

Saturday, I read an article in The Washington Post, Under scrutiny for big price hikes, hospitals kept boosting patients’ costs. (October 22, 2016 Politics & the Nation section).

A recent study of 50 hospitals across the U.S. marking up their prices was bad enough. This newest article in the Washington Post tells us that despite public outrage the hospitals continued to raise rates.

Twenty out of the 50 hospitals are in Florida. Over a five-year period one hospital raised its rates more than 52%, and another hospital, also in Florida raised its rates more than 95%.

My issue with this is that it’s just downright wrong, and why are there no regulations on hospitals and what they can charge patients?
